About us

Children attend the Early Years Assessment Centre between 2 and 5 years of age.  They either have a medical condition/disability or early social communication and interaction difficulties, where it is regarded that further multi professional assessment of the child’s needs will be necessary to determine their future educational placement. The focus of this educational setting is assessment, which provides accurate information about the child’s level of development, and physical needs to inform and facilitate future provision.

All children will have the opportunity to access the Foundation Stage Curriculum through play, having fun and being supported by an experienced professional adult. The indoor and outdoor learning environments provide a wide range of activities where children can play alongside and with others in a safe way. There will be time during the session for individual and small group activities, with assessment linked to Individual Education Programmes.

We take children to places of interest in the local environment using our school mini bus.

We offer a lending service of resources for you to share with your child at home.

You will find out about what your child has been doing through the use of the Home-School book or speaking to staff.
